Why use this training method?

Better, more reliable results, usually more quickly than traditional

Positive behavioural training:

uses a clear marker signal to tell the animal precisely when it is doing the
right thing - also known as "clicker training"

reinforces good behaviour with rewards

is less physically demanding and emotionally stressful on the animal than
many forms of traditional training (no need for physical force or pain)

engenders enthusiasm, a sense of fun or play, and mental stimulation (for
both animals and humans!)

builds a relationship based on trust and clear communication, not fear of
adverse consequences

is based on the science of behaviourism combined with understanding of
different species (ethology) and individuals within a species

makes learning fun and easy for the animal.

Behaviour trained with positive reinforcement is strong and
reliable.

It is so reliable that it is used with animals in situations where the handler's life
depends on it.

For many animals, the mental stimulation of clicker training becomes a
motivation in itself.
